Commemoration service

Anzac Day in Northam 2021

The Northam RSL is endeavouring to hold normal Anzac Day commemorations despite Covid-19 restrictions. At this time there will be the following activities:-

Anzac Eve Vigil

The Northam Scout Group will hold a Vigil at the Memorial commencing 6pm Anzac Eve.

Dawn Service

The Sub Branch will hold a Dawn Service at 6am at the Memorial Hall. Those members wishing to attend as a group please meet at the Post Office by 5.45am when they will proceed to the hall.

A Gunfire Breakfast will be held at the conclusion of the service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the breakfast will be modified from previous years and social distancing must be maintained.

Anzac Day Parade and Service

The parade will form up as usual on Grey st and march to the Memorial Hall at 1040am where a service and wreath laying will be conducted.

This year the Reviewing Office will be Mr Tony Mylius AM well known cardiologist and wheatbelt identity.

The address will be given by Ms Karen Glass, a member of our Sub Branch.

Unfortunately there will be no morning tea served to the General Public after the march due Covid protocols and administration difficulties.

It is hoped that many people will attend the parade and enjoy themselves within the social distancing rules.

For those unable to attend and wish to have a driveway service again this year resources are available on the Sub Branch website northamrsl.com

2021 Northam RSL cruise

Flyer for 2021 Northam RSL cruise. If interested please contact Clive at Northam Travel and Cruise 9622 1499

The cruise leaves Fremantle at 5:00 pm on the Friday. The ship calls into Geraldton, Broome, Darwin, Yorkey’s Knob, and then up to Papua New Guinea, finishing at Brisbane in the morning, after 14 days of luxury living. Berths are limited.

This is a great introduction to cruising, and if you’ve ever wanted to try it, but worried about being alone with strangers, this gives you the best of both worlds – local people to talk to, and you can spend time doing the activities you want to do.
