New seating at Memorial

Members of Northam Men’s Shed & Northam RSL try out the new benches

Thanks to a donation from Northam Rotary Club, the Northam RSL Sub Branch were able to ask the Northam Men’s Shed if they would be interested in building two bench seats for the gazebo area behind the Memorial.

On completing the work the Men’s Shed mounted the two seats to the gazebo.

What a great job they did. The seats are designed to look like the sun raising. The members of the Sub Branch couldn’t wait to test them out.

President Mick Prytulak added that the area behind the Memorial is now a place where people can go  take a seat and reflect.

Thank you to Northam Rotary Club and Northam Men’s Shed.

Northam RSL Lawn Bowls Day

Winners of the 2019 Northam annual bowling day

The competition is to celebrate the role the RSL plays in the community and to raise awareness of the Sub Branch’s efforts to dedicate a new memorial to the Vietnam Veterans.

In the past sub branches used to travel to Northam by train for a tournament Northam versus the rest. Thanks to the Northam Bowling Club we are able to revive this tradition.

The Northam Sub Branch would like to thank the sponsors for their support -J & A Building, Purslowe Tinetti Funerals, Northam Travel and Cruise and Verlindens Electrical Service.
