After many weekends work of painting by Michelle Joyce and Bayley Wooster, the Northam RSL Mural “The lone Digger in a field of poppies” was lit up on the night of the Dinner Dance for the first time.
This was dedicated on the 10th Nov, part of the “Centenary of Armistice” weekend events that the Sub Branch held.
More photos and video of the weekend’s celebrations will be uploaded.
11th November 2018 marks the Centenary of the Armistice. 100 years ago, the First World War officially ended. This year, as well as the annual service, Bernard Park will be the venue for a church service, poppy planting, and a family fun day. The Northam RSL sub branch invites all members of the community to join us.

On the 9th October 1942, 4 airmen died during a routine training flight from Cunderdin to Pearce. In the months following the crash, local community members erected a memorial.
The Northam RSL invite all to the memorial service on Saturday 13th October at 11am. You can find the memorial about half way up Avro Anson Road, Mokine. A lunch will be available at the Northam RSL Memorial Hall afterwards, for a small cost. Please RSVP to our Membership Secretary, Donna
Over the year, the sub branch has a variety of services and events.
These include craft days, mystery tours, fund raisers, Christmas cheers, Poppy Day, and sundowners. We also work with local youth through cadet groups, high school interaction and sponsoring end of year awards for primary school students. We help the schools conduct their own ceremonial services, and have representation at our public commemorations.
We meet on the first Saturday of month (except January), at 10am at the Memorial Hall : 265 Fitzgerald St, Northam.
The Women’s Auxiliary meet when needed. If you are interested in joining please contact Denette Bernard or Donna Prytulak.
Our office is open every Friday from 9 – 11 am. Come in for a chat and coffee. Tuesday 2 – 4pm is our coffee and cake day – open to all, bring along your own cup, a gold coin donation for the hot drink and cake, and see what happens next. Coffee and cake takes a break between the 2nd Tuesday of December and the 1st Tuesday of February.
Services held throughout the year include:
