The Northam RSL Sub Branch Auxiliary have been in existence for 88 years and have around 20 members at this time.
It is one of only two Auxiliaries still in existence in WA.
The Auxiliary’s function is to assist the Northam RSL Sub Branch, Veterans and their Families.
To be able to do this they fund raise throughout the year.
Events like the Christmas in July luncheon, Mokine service luncheon, Mother’s Day raffle, as well as craft weekends, garage sales, high tea’s and fashion parades. They also cater for Sub Branch members wakes.
Further, they also provide assistance to Lions, the Hospital Auxiliary, Rotary Inner Wheel and both aged care facilities in Northam.
In October the Auxiliary, as well as ex service women, hold a weekend away in Busselton for a Mental Awareness weekend retreat.
They also have Coffee and Cake afternoons on a Tuesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
If you are craft minded they have Wednesday mornings booked from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. On the third Wednesday of the month it’s an all day affair, and on the 4th Wednesday of the month they have lunch at various premises in Northam.
If you would like to join the Auxiliary you will need to be Ex-Service, or be related to someone with an Australian Defence Force back ground.
