Auxiliary Mental Health Weekend at Busselton

After a smooth trip to Busselton the first thing we saw was a black dog on the back of his mate’s bike.

Helmet and goggles the way to go! Then after settling in on Thursday, Friday was pampering day. We had the best relaxing massages and now was time to catchup with the rest of the group from the WRAAC Association girls, who we had asked to join us on our Mental Health Weekend Retreat away.

Friday night we all regrouped at the local Busselton RSL Club for dinner where we met the Vice President Jack and Secretary Chris Churchere ( ex-local ), and had a delicious Lasagna for dinner.

The meal, plus the raffles, were a great hit and with most of the raffles going to our table we had a great time! Thanks guys it was much appreciated but if looks could kill, we would be in trouble!!!

The big win at the raffle meant we didn’t have to buy much for our joint dinner on Saturday night.

We participated in different activities on Saturday such as Op Shopping, Movies and sightseeing, and of course some more pampering!

Well, what do I say about Saturday nights festivities. The WRAAC Girls didn’t tell us it was a glam dress up night, so we did the best we could in our PJ’S!!!!

We enjoyed a great meal provided by Donna, Deb and Wendy plus Brenda cooked the meat on the barbecue!!

We then settled into one of the cabins and played Charades, which was really funny as you can imagine. Being such a big day lights were out at 10:00 pm.

Sunday was the annual bus trip to Margaret River, plus other destinations, with a delicious meal and sightseeing , plus shopping to support the locals.

Dinner on Sunday night was leftovers, more talking and laughing and then bed.

Monday was spent saying our goodbyes and final farewells, then packing and heading home. Our trip back to Northam was a little hair raising at times with the pouring rain.

Even though we had a few ladies missing from last year with illness we are really looking forward for their return for next year’s festivities and relaxing time.

In saying that we would really like to give a big THANK YOU TO THE BLACK DOG ORGANISATION for the grant we received from them.

THANK YOU to the girls from the WRAAC Association and the girls from Northam RSL SB Auxiliary!!
